The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars (Pinetops, NC) and the host Nash Central Bulldogs (Rocky Mount, NC), witnessed SouthWest Edgecombe's football squad edge Nash Central by a tally of 34-28.

The Cougars (2-0) will now prepare for their contest against Eastern Wayne (Goldsboro, NC). The Warriors enter the non-league contest with a 1-1 record. In their last contest, Eastern Wayne was nudged by C.B. Aycock (Pikeville, NC), 41-12, in a non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Bulldogs battle the Goldsboro Cougars (Goldsboro, NC) in a non-league contest, on Friday, September 6. Nash Central will attempt to better on its 1-1 season record.
