In Friday's non-league battle, the host Union Academy Cardinals football team scored a tight 44-42 win over the Lincoln Charter Eagles.

With the win, Union Academy advances its record to 1-1 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy (Winston-Salem, NC) to play the Phoenix in a non-league battle on Friday, September 12. The Phoenix go into the battle with a record of 0-3. Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy lost 51-0 in their recent non-league battle against Alleghany (Sparta, NC)

The Eagles now own a 1-2 record. They play next when they travel to SouthLake Christian Academy for a non-league battle on Friday, September 12. Lincoln Charter will play a Eagles team coming off a 63-0 non-league loss to Charlotte Latin (Charlotte, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 1-2.
