September 6, 2024: Oxford, NC 27565 Falls Lake Firebirds (Creedmoor, NC) backers exited the stadium pleased Friday as they witnessed their soccer team knock off the host Oxford Prep Griffins (Oxford, NC), 2-0 in a non-league test.
With the triumph, Falls Lake advances its record to 3-4 on the campaign. The Firebirds host NCSSM: Durham (Durham, NC) to clash with the Unicorns in a Super Six 1A/2A test on Monday, September 9. The Unicorns come into the test with a record of 1-2. NCSSM: Durham lost 2-0 in their recent non-league test against Carrboro (Carrboro, NC)
The Griffins now have a 2-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Vance Charter for a Triangle North 1A test on Monday, September 9. Oxford Prep will clash with a Knights team coming off a 7-1 league win over Roxboro Community (Roxboro, NC). The Knights record now stands at 4-4.
