Texas High School Football - DeRidder falls to Newton

The Newton Eagles felled the visiting DeRidder Dragons football team by a score of 36-16 in Friday's non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Eagles play the Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls (Anderson, TX) in a 3A-2 Region III District 12 challenge, on Friday, September 26. Newton will attempt to improve on its 3-1 season record. The Fighting Owls go into the challenge with a 2-2 record after their 30-17 non-league loss to Shepherd (Shepherd, TX).

With the defeat, DeRidder drops to 1-2 on the campaign. The Dragons host Westlake (Westlake, LA) to meet the Rams in a non-league test on Friday, September 26. The Rams come into the test with a record of 3-0. Westlake won 34-6 in their recent non-league test against Washington-Marion (Lake Charles, LA)
