North Wilkes Vikings (Hays, NC) followers left the game satisfied Thursday as they saw their volleyball squad edge the visiting Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC), 3-2 in a league challenge.

The Vikings (14-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Elkin (Elkin, NC). The Buckin' Elks come into the Mountain Valley 2A/3A/4A challenge with a 7-11 record. In their last challenge, Elkin edged Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Huskies play the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) in a non-league game, on Monday, September 29. Ashe County will attempt to advance on its 18-6 season record. The Pioneers go into the game with a 16-1 record after their 3-0 league win over Freedom (Morganton, NC).
