Sterling Black Bears (Sterling, KS) backers were pleased Saturday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the visiting Southeast of Saline Trojans (Gypsum, KS), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Black Bears (9-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Ell-Saline (Brookville, KS). The Cardinals come into the Heart of America challenge with a 13-14 record. In their last challenge, Ell-Saline beat Classical (Wichita, KS), 2-0, in a non-league test.

The Trojans now sport a 8-14 record. They put it on the line next when they host Beloit for a North Central AA test on Tuesday, September 30. Southeast of Saline will face a Trojans squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Clay Center (Clay Center, KS). The Trojans record now stands at 18-4.
