The La Vega Pirates football squad scored 28 points and limited the visiting Yoakum Bulldogs to 21 in the Pirates non-league win on Friday.

The Pirates now possess a 4-2 record. They play next when they host Life Waxahachie for a 4A-1 Region II District 5 battle on Friday, October 6. La Vega will play a Mustangs squad coming off a 40-14 non-league win over Robinson (Robinson, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 2-4.

Coming up next, the Bulldogs play the Hitchcock Bulldogs (Hitchcock, TX) in a 3A-1 Region III District 12 battle, on Friday, October 6. Yoakum will attempt to advance on its 4-2 season record.
