Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions (Glendale, AZ) boosters exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Valley Vista Monsoon (Surprise, AZ), 8-0 in a non-league test.

With the triumph, Mountain Ridge moves its record to 7-2 on the campaign. The Mountain Lions travel to Liberty (Peoria, AZ) to clash with the Lions in a 6A Desert Valley test on Wednesday, January 15. The Lions come into the test with a record of 10-2.

The Monsoon now sport a 2-6 record. They take the field next when they host South Mountain for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 14. Valley Vista will clash with a Jaguars team coming off a 4-1 non-league win over Desert Ridge (Mesa, AZ). The Jaguars record now stands at 5-3.
