The Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks basketball team scored 42 points and restricted the visiting New Covenant Gryphons to 22 in the Mavericks league victory on Friday.

The Mavericks now sport a 4-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Winston-Salem Prep for a non-league contest on Sunday, January 14.

The Gryphons (9-3) will now prepare for their contest against Blue Ridge Christian (Bridgewater, VA). The Bears come into the non-league contest with a 6-0 record. In their last contest, Blue Ridge Christian prevailed over Temple Christian (Madison Heights, VA), 49-41, in a non-league contest.
