Virginia High School Basketball - Grayson County bests Galax

January 14, 2025: Independence, VA 24348

The Grayson County Blue Devils basketball team scored 49 points and limited the visiting Galax Maroon Tide to 40 in the Blue Devils league triumph on Tuesday.

The Blue Devils now possess a 2-5 record. They play next when they travel to Eastern Montgomery for a non-league game on Thursday, January 16. Grayson County will play a Mustangs team coming off a 47-43 league win over Highland (Monterey, VA). The Mustangs record now stands at 6-3.

With the loss, Galax falls to 0-6 on the campaign. The Maroon tide host Auburn (Riner, VA) to play the Eagles in a Mountain Empire game on Friday, January 17. The Eagles go into the game with a record of 6-6. Auburn lost 74-64 in their recent league game against George Wythe (Wytheville, VA)
