California High School Basketball - Katella can't hold off Valencia
January 14, 2025: Placentia, CA 92870 Valencia Tigers (Placentia, CA) supporters left the game happy Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Katella Knights (Anaheim, CA), 43-38 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Valencia advances its record to 17-5 on the year. The Tigers travel to Calvary Chapel (Santa Ana, CA) to face the Eagles in a Golden Empire match on Thursday, January 16. The Eagles enter the match with a record of 6-16. Calvary Chapel lost 88-47 in their recent league match against Godinez Fundamental (Santa Ana, CA)
The Knights now own a 5-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Kennedy for a Freelance match on Thursday, January 16. Katella will face a Fighting Irish squad coming off a 39-35 league win over Fullerton (Fullerton, CA). The Fighting Irish record now stands at 10-10.
