January 15, 2025: Wilson, NC 27893 N.C. School for the Deaf Bears (Morganton, NC) supporters left the game happy Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf Fighting Hornet (Wilson, NC), 55-51 in a league match.
With the victory, N.C. School for the Deaf advances its record to 4-2 on the year. The Bears host Virginia School for the Deaf & Blind (Staunton, VA) to face the Fox Defenders in a non-league match on Thursday, January 16. The Fox Defenders enter the match with a record of 2-4. Virginia School for the Deaf & Blind lost 49-32 in their recent non-league match against Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf (Wilson, NC)
The Fighting Hornet now own a 3-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to DASH for a non-league match on Thursday, January 16. Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf will face a United squad coming off a 67-55 non-league win over Grovemont (Cary, NC). The United record now stands at 9-8.
