Sahuarita Mustangs (Sahuarita, AZ) boosters left the game satisfied Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Amphitheater Panthers (Tucson, AZ), 55-54 in a league match.

With the victory, Sahuarita upgrades its record to 8-10 on the year. The Mustangs host Douglas (Douglas, AZ) to face the Bulldogs in a 4A Gila match on Friday, January 17. The Bulldogs go into the contest with a record of 16-2.

In their next game, the Panthers confront the Rio Rico Hawks (Rio Rico, AZ) in a 4A Gila contest, on Friday, January 17. Amphitheater will attempt to better on its 10-8 season record. The Hawks go into the contest with a 10-6 record after their 81-15 league win over Cholla (Tucson, AZ).
