The New Covenant Gryphons basketball team scored 42 points and limited the host Timberlake Christian Tornadoes to 16 in the Gryphons non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Gryphons now possess a 8-4 record. They play next when they travel to Lynchburg HomeSchool for a non-league game on Friday, January 17. New Covenant will play a Patriots team coming off a 51-27 non-league loss to Virginia Episcopal School (Lynchburg, VA). The Patriots record now stands at 1-5.

With the loss, Timberlake Christian falls to 5-4 on the campaign. The Tornadoes host Westover Christian Academy (Danville, VA) to play the Bulldogs in a VISAA Division III game on Friday, January 17. The Bulldogs go into the game with a record of 6-4. Westover Christian Academy won 49-15 in their recent non-league game against Christian Heritage Academy (Rocky Mount, VA)
