In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Statesville Christian Lions basketball team scored a close 25-24 triumph over the North Hills Christian Eagles.

The Lions (8-3) will now prepare for their contest against Salem Baptist Christian (Winston-Salem, NC). The Vikings go into the NCISAA Freelance contest with a 0-8 record. In their last contest, Salem Baptist Christian was tipped by University Christian (Hickory, NC), 59-7, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Eagles battle the Victory Christian Center Kings (Charlotte, NC) in a NCISAA Southern Piedmont contest, on Thursday, January 23. North Hills Christian will attempt to better on its 8-4 season record.
