In Friday's league test, the Birmingham Patriots (Lake Balboa, CA) basketball squad knocked off the host Taft Toreadors (Woodland Hills, CA), by a score of 83-73.

Next, the Patriots encounter the Los Altos Conquerors (Hacienda Heights, CA) in a non-league test, on Monday, January 20. Birmingham will attempt to improve on its 9-8 season record. The Conquerors come into the test with a 17-4 record after their 71-66 league win over Alta Loma (Alta Loma, CA).

The Toreadors (9-11) will now prepare for their test against Granada Hills Charter (Granada Hills, CA). The Highlanders come into the West Valley test with a 10-7 record. In their last test, Granada Hills Charter was knocked off by Chatsworth (Chatsworth, CA), 62-45, in a league test.
