The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Ferris Yellowjackets (Ferris, TX) and the visiting Venus Bulldogs (Venus, TX), observed Ferris's basketball team edge Venus by a score of 44-43.

The Yellowjackets (17-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Kennedale (Kennedale, TX). The Wildcats come into the 4A Region II District 12 challenge with a 20-7 record. In their last challenge, Kennedale edged Venus (Venus, TX), 78-54, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Bulldogs encounter the Hillsboro Eagles (Hillsboro, TX) in a 4A Region II District 12 challenge, on Tuesday, January 21.
