The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks (Charlottesville, VA) and the visiting New Covenant Gryphons (Lynchburg, VA), observed Miller School of Albemarle's basketball team overwhelm New Covenant by a score of 69-39.

The Mavericks (8-9) will now prepare for their challenge against GRACE Christian (Raleigh, NC). The Eagles come into the non-league challenge with a 11-13 record. In their last challenge, GRACE Christian trounced St. David's (Raleigh, NC), 47-35, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Gryphons encounter the Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs (Danville, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 20. New Covenant will attempt to improve on its 11-3 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 11-4 record after their 62-43 league win over Timberlake Christian (Forest, VA).
