In Friday's league test, the Ropes Eagles (Ropesville, TX) basketball squad trounced the host Sundown Roughnecks (Sundown, TX), by a score of 62-34.

Next, the Eagles encounter the Morton Indians (Morton, TX) in a 2A Region I District 5 test, on Tuesday, January 21. Ropes will attempt to improve on its 10-5 season record.

The Roughnecks (4-12) will now prepare for their test against Smyer (Smyer, TX). The Bobcats come into the 2A Region I District 5 test with a 5-12 record. In their last test, Smyer was routed by Plains (Plains, TX), 70-36, in a league test.
