January 17, 2025: Ackerly, TX 79713 Sands Mustangs (Ackerly, TX) supporters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting Dawson Dragons (Welch, TX), 41-1 in a league match.
With the victory, Sands advances its record to 15-11 on the year. The Mustangs host Klondike (Lamesa, TX) to face the Cougars in a 1A Region I District 6 match on Tuesday, January 21. The Cougars enter the match with a record of 13-13. Klondike won 59-21 in their recent league match against Grady (Lenorah, TX)
The Dragons now own a 5-14 record. They put it on the line next when they host Grady for a 1A Region I District 6 match on Friday, January 24.
