Melrose Buffaloes (Melrose, NM) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Del Norte Knights (Albuquerque, NM), 27-23 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Melrose upgrades its record to 10-2 on the year. The Buffaloes travel to Rio Grande (Albuquerque, NM) to face the Ravens in a non-league match on Saturday, January 18. The Ravens enter the match with a record of 1-14. Rio Grande lost 54-50 in their recent non-league match against Manzano (Albuquerque, NM)

The Knights now sport a 4-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Highland for a non-league match on Wednesday, January 22. Del Norte will face a Hornets squad coming off a 64-63 non-league loss to West Mesa (Albuquerque, NM). The Hornets record now stands at 9-8.
