Virginia High School Basketball - Miller School of Albemarle fells New Covenant

January 18, 2024: Lynchburg, VA 24501

Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks (Charlottesville, VA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host New Covenant Gryphons (Lynchburg, VA), 56-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Miller School of Albemarle upgrades its record to 12-3 on the season. The Mavericks travel to Georgetown Prep (North Bethesda, MD) to clash with the Little Hoyas in a non-league bout on Sunday, January 21. The Little Hoyas go into the bout with a record of 13-2. Georgetown Prep won 94-61 in their recent league bout against St. Albans (Washington, DC)

Next up, the Gryphons clash with the Fishburne Military Caissons (Waynesboro, VA) in a Virginia Independent bout, on Tuesday, January 23. New Covenant will attempt to upgrade on its 11-2 season record. The Caissons go into the bout with a 1-13 record after their 82-49 league loss to Roanoke Catholic (Roanoke, VA).
