In Thursday's non-league contest, the host French Settlement Lions basketball team scored a big 72-46 triumph over the Mamou Demons.

The Lions (16-9) will now prepare for their contest against Springfield (Springfield, LA). The Bulldogs go into the non-league contest with a 15-8 record. In their last contest, Springfield smashed Northlake Christian (Covington, LA), 43-27, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Demons confront the Amite Warriors (Amite, LA) in a non-league contest, on Friday, January 3. Mamou will attempt to better on its 14-8 season record.
