The Sahuarita Mustangs basketball team scored 43 points and limited the host Desert Edge Scorpions to 22 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Mustangs now have a 5-9 record. They play next when they travel to Holbrook for a non-league game on Friday, January 3. Sahuarita will confront a Roadrunners team coming off a 57-48 league loss to Winslow (Winslow, AZ). The Roadrunners record now stands at 4-9.

With the loss, Desert Edge falls to 2-9 on the campaign. The Scorpions travel to Buckeye (Buckeye, AZ) to confront the Hawks in a 5A Desert West game on Thursday, January 9. The Hawks go into the game with a record of 8-6.
