Arizona High School Basketball - Sunrise Mountain triumphant over Willow Canyon

The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs (Peoria, AZ) and the host Willow Canyon Wildcats (Surprise, AZ), observed Sunrise Mountain's basketball team overwhelm Willow Canyon by a score of 71-33.

The Mustangs (16-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Ironwood (Glendale, AZ). The Eagles come into the 5A Northwest Valley challenge with a 5-14 record. In their last challenge, Ironwood was routed by Centennial (Peoria, AZ), 54-53, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Wildcats encounter the Boulder Creek Jaguars (Anthem, AZ) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 23. Willow Canyon will attempt to improve on its 9-6 season record. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a 4-15 record after their 39-34 league loss to Mountain Ridge (Glendale, AZ).
