The South Mecklenburg Sabres basketball squad (Charlotte, NC), was nudged 72-69 in Thursday's league battle with the visiting Ardrey Kell Knights (Charlotte, NC)

With the victory, Ardrey Kell advances its record to 14-3 on the year. The Knights travel to Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC) to meet the Cavaliers in a non-league battle on Friday, January 24. The Cavaliers enter the battle with a record of 10-4. Cuthbertson won 64-51 in their recent league battle against Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC)

The Sabres now own a 10-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Olympic for a 4A South Meck battle on Friday, January 24. South Mecklenburg will meet a Trojans squad coming off a 63-47 league loss to Berry (Charlotte, NC). The Trojans record now stands at 13-4.
