The Covenant Day Lions basketball squad (Matthews, NC), was outscored 67-53 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Providence Day Chargers (Charlotte, NC)

With the victory, Providence Day advances its record to 21-4 on the year. The Chargers host Charlotte Country Day School (Charlotte, NC) to meet the Buccaneers in a NCISAA Charlotte Independent battle on Tuesday, January 28. The Buccaneers enter the battle with a record of 14-10. Charlotte Country Day School won 82-80 in their recent league battle against Cannon (Concord, NC)

The Lions now own a 12-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Charlotte Christian for a NCISAA Charlotte Independent battle on Tuesday, January 28. Covenant Day will meet a Knights squad coming off a 81-75 league loss to Charlotte Latin (Charlotte, NC). The Knights record now stands at 7-15.
