Downey Vikings (Downey, CA) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting Norwalk Lancers (Norwalk, CA), 56-49 in a league match.

With the victory, Downey upgrades its record to 16-9 on the year. The Vikings travel to Firebaugh (Lynwood, CA) to face the Falcons in a San Gabriel Valley match on Wednesday, January 29. The Falcons enter the match with a record of 4-7.

The Lancers now sport a 15-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Bellflower for a San Gabriel Valley match on Wednesday, January 29. Norwalk will face a Buccaneers squad coming off a 59-53 league loss to Warren (Downey, CA). The Buccaneers record now stands at 17-8.
