The West Charlotte Lions basketball squad (Charlotte, NC), was nudged 58-54 in Friday's league battle with the host Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC)

With the victory, Mallard Creek advances its record to 10-8 on the year. The Mavericks host Hopewell (Huntersville, NC) to meet the Titans in a 3A/4A Queen City battle on Tuesday, January 28. The Titans enter the battle with a record of 13-4. Hopewell lost 60-47 in their recent non-league battle against Ambassador Christian School (Huntersville, NC)

The Lions now own a 8-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Victory Christian Center for a non-league battle on Saturday, January 25. West Charlotte will meet a Kings squad coming off a 49-47 non-league loss to Davidson Day (Davidson, NC). The Kings record now stands at 14-7.
