Portage Mustangs (Portage, PA) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting United Lions (Armagh, PA), 50-47 in a league match.

With the victory, Portage upgrades its record to 12-4 on the year. The Mustangs travel to Conemaugh Valley (Johnstown, PA) to face the Blue Jays in a Heritage match on Saturday, January 25. The Blue Jays enter the match with a record of 9-6. Conemaugh Valley won 57-43 in their recent league match against Cambria Heights (Patton, PA)

The Lions now sport a 11-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Berlin Brothersvalley for a non-league match on Monday, January 27. United will face a Mountaineers squad coming off a 74-61 non-league win over Southern Fulton (Warfordsburg, PA). The Mountaineers record now stands at 5-9.
