In Friday's league test, the Marvin Ridge Mavericks (Waxhaw, NC) basketball squad knocked off the host Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC), by a score of 66-52.

Next, the Mavericks encounter the Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC) in a 4A Southern Carolina test, on Tuesday, January 28. Marvin Ridge will attempt to improve on its 13-5 season record.

The Warriors (10-6) will now prepare for their test against Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC). The Cavaliers come into the 4A Southern Carolina test with a 4-8 record. In their last test, Cuthbertson was knocked off by Ardrey Kell (Charlotte, NC), 63-29, in a non-league test.
