January 25, 2025: Bradenton, FL 34210 IMG Academy Blue Ascenders (Bradenton, FL) supporters left the game satisfied Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the visiting Palmetto Tigers (Palmetto, FL), 49-40 in a non-league match.
With the victory, IMG Academy Blue advances its record to 6-15 on the year. The Ascenders host Excel Christian Academy (Lakeland, FL) to face the Spartans in a non-league match on Tuesday, January 28. The Spartans enter the match with a record of 9-8. Excel Christian Academy lost 68-30 in their recent league match against The Rock (Gainesville, FL)
The Tigers now own a 6-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lakewood Ranch for a 6A District 11 match on Tuesday, January 28. Palmetto will face a Mustangs squad coming off a 44-26 non-league win over Braden River (Bradenton, FL). The Mustangs record now stands at 15-4.
