In Tuesday's league test, the Monroe Redhawks (Monroe, NC) basketball squad knocked off the visiting Piedmont Panthers (Monroe, NC), by a score of 49-39.

Next, the Redhawks encounter the Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) in a non-league test, on Wednesday, January 29. Monroe will attempt to improve on its 7-1 season record. The Spartans come into the test with a 7-11 record after their 51-41 league loss to Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC).
