The Wellsboro Hornets (Wellsboro, PA) basketball edged the host Canton Warriors (Canton, PA), 49-46 in Wednesday's league bout.

The Hornets now possess a 8-9 record. They play next when they host North Penn-Mansfield for a Northern Tier bout on Friday, January 31. Wellsboro will play a Tigers team coming off a 78-39 league win over Williamson (Tioga, PA). The Tigers record now stands at 15-3.

With the loss, Canton falls to 6-12 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Montgomery (Montgomery, PA) to play the Red Raiders in a non-league bout on Monday, February 3.
