Gilmer Buckeyes (Gilmer, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Carthage Bulldogs (Carthage, TX), 61-40 in a league bout.

With the victory, Gilmer upgrades its record to 14-7 on the campaign. The Buckeyes travel to Center (Center, TX) to play the Roughriders in a 4A Region III District 17 bout on Friday, January 6. The Roughriders come into the bout with a record of 5-10. Center lost 32-30 in their recent league bout against Spring Hill (Longview, TX)
