Edinburg North Cougars (Edinburg, TX) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Hanna Golden Eagles (Brownsville, TX), 64-60 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Edinburg North upgrades its record to 17-11 on the year. The Cougars travel to La Joya (La Joya, TX) to face the Coyotes in a 6A Region IV District 31 match on Friday, January 10. The Coyotes enter the match with a record of 8-17. La Joya lost 81-38 in their recent non-league match against Harlingen (Harlingen, TX)

The Golden Eagles now sport a 19-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Valley View for a non-league match on Tuesday, January 7. Hanna will face a Tigers squad coming off a 55-47 non-league loss to San Benito (San Benito, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 3-11.
