In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting North Charleston Cougars basketball team scored a close 38-36 triumph over the James Island Trojans.

The Cougars (8-5) will now prepare for their contest against Burke (Charleston, SC). The Bulldogs go into the non-league contest with a 9-4 record. In their last contest, Burke was tipped by Lucy Beckham (Mt. Pleasant, SC), 56-48, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Trojans battle the Lucy Beckham Bengals (Mt. Pleasant, SC) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, January 7. James Island will attempt to better on its 7-6 season record.
