Northwood Gators (Lena, LA) supporters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting Pitkin Tigers (Pitkin, LA), 44-42 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Northwood advances its record to 8-3 on the year. The Gators host Avoyelles (Moreauville, LA) to face the Mustangs in a non-league match on Tuesday, January 7. The Mustangs enter the match with a record of 11-5. Avoyelles lost 61-50 in their recent non-league match against Abbeville (Abbeville, LA)

The Tigers now own a 15-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Opelousas Catholic for a non-league match on Friday, January 3. Pitkin will face a Vikings squad coming off a 51-43 non-league win over North Vermilion (Maurice, LA). The Vikings record now stands at 5-6.
