Verrado Vipers (Buckeye, AZ) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Benjamin Franklin Chargers (Queen Creek, AZ), 55-54 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Verrado advances its record to 2-10 on the year. The Vipers host Paradise Valley (Phoenix, AZ) to face the Trojans in a 5A Desert West match on Thursday, January 9. The Trojans enter the match with a record of 5-7.

The Chargers now own a 6-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host ALA - Gilbert North for a non-league match on Saturday, January 4. Benjamin Franklin will face a Eagles squad coming off a 45-38 non-league loss to Sahuarita (Sahuarita, AZ). The Eagles record now stands at 2-9.
