Highland Prep Honey Badgers (Surprise, AZ) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad run past the visiting Valley Lutheran Flames (Phoenix, AZ), 40-29 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Highland Prep advances its record to 7-5 on the year. The Honey Badgers travel to Chino Valley (Chino Valley, AZ) to meet the Cougars in a 3A West match on Tuesday, January 7. The Cougars enter the match with a record of 2-5. Chino Valley won 52-30 in their recent non-league match against Mayer (Mayer, AZ)

The Flames now own a 8-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Chandler Prep for a non-league match on Friday, January 3. Valley Lutheran will meet a Titans squad coming off a 49-30 non-league loss to Benjamin Franklin (Queen Creek, AZ). The Titans record now stands at 2-7.
