January 30, 2024: Piasa, IL 62079 The Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL) basketball knocked off the visiting East Alton-Wood River Oilers (Wood River, IL), 77-61 in Tuesday's non-league test.
The Piasa Birds (17-8) will now prepare for their test against Pana (Pana, IL). The Panthers go into the South Central test with a 7-17 record. In their last test, Pana notched a victory over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg (Windsor, IL), 62-60, in a non-league test.
The Oilers now own a 3-22 record. They play next when they travel to Sparta for a non-league test on Wednesday, January 31. East Alton-Wood River will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 48-33 non-league win over New Athens (New Athens, IL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 15-9.
