Maine High School Basketball - Mount Desert Island holds off Washington Academy
January 30, 2025: Mount Desert, ME 04660 The Mount Desert Island Trojans basketball team scored 65 points and limited the visiting Washington Academy Raiders to 60 in the Trojans league triumph on Thursday.
The Trojans now possess a 12-7 record. They play next when they travel to Ellsworth for a B North game on Wednesday, February 5. Mount Desert Island will confront a Eagles team coming off a 65-45 league win over Bucksport (Bucksport, ME). The Eagles record now stands at 15-3.
With the loss, Washington Academy falls to 7-9 on the campaign. The Raiders host Hermon (Hermon, ME) to confront the Hawks in a B North game on Saturday, February 1. The Hawks go into the game with a record of 8-10. Hermon lost 56-49 in their recent league game against Orono (Orono, ME)
