North Carolina High School Basketball - Providence Classical bested by Gaston Day
January 30, 2025: Gastonia, NC 28056 Gaston Day Spartans (Gastonia, NC) supporters left the game happy Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad run past the visiting Providence Classical Paladins (Rock Hill, SC), 42-30 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Gaston Day advances its record to 4-16 on the year. The Spartans travel to Westminster Catawba Christian (Rock Hill, SC) to meet the Indians in a NCISAA Metrolina match on Friday, January 31. The Indians enter the match with a record of 9-10. Westminster Catawba Christian lost 68-58 in their recent league match against Metrolina Christian Academy (Indian Trail, NC)
The Paladins now own a 6-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy for a Metro Area match on Monday, February 3. Providence Classical will meet a Patriots squad coming off a 39-35 league win over Covenant Classical (Concord, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 11-7.
