In Thursday's league contest, the visiting Tombstone Yellow Jackets basketball team scored a good 56-45 triumph over the Morenci Wildcats.

The Yellow Jackets (21-5) will now prepare for their contest against Valley Union (Elfrida, AZ). The Blue Devils go into the non-league contest with a 8-13 record. In their last contest, Valley Union topped Patagonia (Patagonia, AZ), 38-25, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Wildcats battle the Santa Rita Eagles (Tucson, AZ) in a 2A South contest, on Monday, February 3. Morenci will attempt to better on its 11-15 season record. The Eagles go into the contest with a 3-12 record after their 42-23 non-league loss to Duncan (Duncan, AZ).
