North Carolina High School Basketball - Shelby holds off Highland Tech

In Friday's league contest, the visiting Shelby Golden Lions basketball team scored a close 59-57 triumph over the Highland Tech Rams.

The Golden Lions (12-7) will now prepare for their contest against Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC). The Yellow Jackets go into the 1A/2A Southern Piedmont contest with a 11-8 record.

In their next game, the Rams confront the Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC) in a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont contest, on Tuesday, February 4. Highland Tech will attempt to better on its 9-10 season record. The Gryphons go into the contest with a 14-5 record after their 61-58 league win over East Gaston (Mt. Holly, NC).
