West Stanly Colts (Oakboro, NC) supporters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Monroe Redhawks (Monroe, NC), 57-56 in a league match.

With the victory, West Stanly advances its record to 9-12 on the year. The Colts host Forest Hills (Marshville, NC) to face the Yellow Jackets in a 2A/3A Rocky River match on Tuesday, February 4. The Yellow Jackets enter the match with a record of 9-10. Forest Hills won 67-36 in their recent league match against Piedmont (Monroe, NC)
