The Perquimans Pirates were victorious over the host North East Carolina Prep Husky basketball squad by a final score of 68-57 in Friday's league outing.

Next, the Pirates clash with the Gates County Red Barons (Gatesville, NC) in a 1A/2A Four Rivers outing, on Monday, February 3. Perquimans will attempt to upgrade on its 3-16 season record. The Red Barons enter the outing with a 6-10 record after their 45-34 league win over Bertie (Windsor, NC).

The Husky (12-7) will now prepare for their outing against Washington County (Plymouth, NC). The Panthers enter the 1A/2A Four Rivers outing with a 12-1 record. In their last outing, Washington County ran past Tarboro (Tarboro, NC), 60-57, in a league outing.
