Rusk Eagles (Rusk, TX) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Center Roughriders (Center, TX), 56-53 in a league match.

With the victory, Rusk advances its record to 12-19 on the year. The Eagles travel to Hudson (Lufkin, TX) to face the Hornets in a 4A Region III District 17 match on Tuesday, February 4. The Hornets enter the match with a record of 11-20.

The Roughriders now own a 8-19 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Palestine for a 4A Region III District 17 match on Tuesday, February 4. Center will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 45-38 league loss to Bullard (Bullard, TX). The Wildcats record now stands at 13-18.
