In Friday's league contest, the host Northern Patriots basketball team scored a big 57-24 triumph over the Thomas Stone Cougars.

The Patriots (10-5) will now prepare for their contest against St. Mary's Ryken (Leonardtown, MD). The Knights go into the non-league contest with a 15-7 record. In their last contest, St. Mary's Ryken was trounced by St. John's (Washington, DC), 84-45, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Cougars confront the Calvert Cavaliers (Prince Frederick, MD) in a Southern Maryland contest, on Tuesday, February 4. Thomas Stone will attempt to better on its 5-9 season record. The Cavaliers go into the contest with a 4-11 record after their 36-24 league win over Westlake (Waldorf, MD).
