The Meridian Mustangs (Falls Church, VA) basketball nipped the host James Wood Colonels (Winchester, VA), 47-40 in Thursday's league test.

The Mustangs (8-1) will now prepare for their test against Seton (Manassas, VA). The Conquistadors go into the non-league test with a 8-3 record.

The Colonels now own a 4-6 record. They play next when they travel to Handley for a Northwestern test on Friday, January 6. James Wood will encounter a Judges squad coming off a 52-38 league loss to Kettle Run (Nokesville, VA). The Judges record now stands at 5-7.
